simPODD is an app for the popular PODD system that makes communication more simple for those who can’t speak. How it works
simPODD makes using PODD much simpler. First, it brings the digital page sets and printing experience into one app. No need to manage different payments and subscriptions, or learn how to use multiple programs. It’s all rolled into one. It’s easy to use, no matter who you are: parent, teacher, speech therapist or PODD user.

Customizing and editing digital page sets is also very straightforward with simPODD. Quickly edit the vocabulary, create new buttons and link folders without following a lot of complicated steps. Since we worked closely with PODD users while building the app, we took all of the hassle and frustration out of these processes.

The easiest PODD book printing experience
The printing function for PODD books is right inside the app. Just select a book and customize. Print the book all at once, instead of page by page. It only takes a few minutes!

You can create as many books as you need, and print them for all of the people in a PODD communicator’s life.

What is PODD?
PODD (Pragmatic Organisation Dynamic Display) is a popular AAC system created and owned by Gayle Porter. PODD organizes vocabulary around communication function and predicted likely usage to make it more efficient to get something across. PODD's range of books and page sets support language development from first words to complex syntax. The books and page sets for early communicators also include strategies like pragmatic branch starters. This supports more intelligible and varied communication.

Version History We have introduced four new British English children's voices from Acapela to choose from. We have also fixed bugs and improved performance and stability. We’ve also fixed some navigation bugs related to group books for a smoother experience.

We hope you enjoy the improved simPODD. 3.7.1 11/11/2024 The voices are now of a higher quality. They sound smoother and clearer, especially for longer messages. There is also a new list page template for Group Early Functions books, plus the look of the Settings section has been improved. 3.7 10/28/2024 You can now delete pages to customize your PODD books. We’ve also fixed bugs to improve performance. 3.6 09/09/2024 We’ve added the option to edit page names and move pages within sections in a book. This will make organizing and navigating your book a breeze! 3.5 08/05/2024 We hope you enjoy exploring the expanded symbol library. We've also added new templates for creating lists in the two-page opening books. Plus, we've made some performance improvements and fixed bugs. 3.4 06/04/2024 We've added templates to create pages related to individual interests and preferred activities, allowing for more customization.

• The 36 Key Word and 40 Key Word PODD books now have an option with the alphabet for users who are not at school. This addition mainly benefits adult users of simPODD. 
• The Group Early Functions and Group Expanded Functions books have two new templates, allowing you to customize your activity pages easily. 

This update also includes performance enhancements and bug fixes. 3.2 04/08/2024 We have added many new voices, including 6 child and 6 teenager voices. There is also a female adult voice for Indian English. Find the one that best suits your needs!

This version also includes several bug fixes and performance improvements. The app is compatible with iOS 16. Thanks for using our app. 2.2 11/08/2022 Introducing Spell Check!

In simPODD 2.1, users learning to write will be able to use the Spell Check feature and easily learn and correct spelling. The feature is also accessible for keyguard users.
We've also taken the opportunity to fix some bugs and make a few performance improvements.

Let us know if you'd like to see other changes in future versions of simPODD - we're always listening! 2.1 10/04/2022 The simPODD voices family keep growing - introducing Malik and Tiana, the first African American children’s voices in simPODD. Along with them we've added two new adult female voices in US English - Lily and Taylor.

We’ve also taken the opportunity to fix minor bugs to improve your simPODD experience. 2.0 09/20/2022 This new version of simPODD has a lot of tweaks and improvements, but two major ones we thought you’d like to know about:
• We’ve added more than 20K new symbols allowing for richer, more nuanced speech.
• We’ve introduced a whole new voice! Darius is the second African American English voice we have in simPODD. We’re proud to be among the first AAC apps to offer it as a choice for our users.

Along with the big updates, we’ve fixed some minor bugs and improved performance so the app is easier and faster to use. Tell us what you want to see in simPODD next - we're always listening! 1.9 05/30/2022 We regularly update and improve simPODD. This version includes bug fixes and performance improvements as well as a few bigger changes:
• All licenses are now based around a user. This means you can install simPODD on multiple devices without additional payment as long as it’s assigned to the same user.
• When you create a page set, it will now have a short and clear default name
